Lumen Printing in the Woods Workshop

Sunday May 17, 1-4pm
$75 ($65 with university ID)
2-8 participants

This workshop covers how to use traditional black and white photo paper to make colorful prints from plant life. Lumen prints are developed by sunlight, and then either chemically-fixed for permanency, or documented digitally to be made into pigment prints. We will cover both of these methods as well as look at examples of contemporary artists using lumen printing. This will also be an opportunity to explore largely-untouched land and identify central Indiana plant life, so bring your hiking boots!

No photo experience is required, participants should be 18+ years of age.

The workshop fee covers all materials, but suggested/optional items include:

  • Old/expired/exposed silver gelatin photo paper, as it works well for this process
  • A DSLR camera for learning more about documenting your prints
