Overview

The Experimental Photo Kitchen currently offers group classes and workshops out of a walkout basement kitchen (hence, our name). While based in the kitchen and an adjacent meeting area, instruction will mainly take place outdoors at a sink in a covered area. We cover a variety of techniques including:

  • 35mm and medium format film development (D-76 black and white, with C-41 color in the future)
  • Chemigrams
  • Cyanotype
  • Lumen printing / cyanolumens
  • Anthotype
  • Pinhole Photography
  • Traditional darkroom printing, 35mm through large format (upcoming with facility expansion)

Private Darkroom Instruction

Bridget offers private instruction in the current one-person darkroom for processing silver gelatin prints. This also can include an introduction to experimental techniques such as composite printing, solarization, toning, selective development, and chromoskedasic sabattier. Please use the form on the contact page to inquire about rates.

Online Instruction

Not in Indiana? No problem! Bridget offers instruction over Zoom for a variety of processes with an overhead sink view. This is a great option for people with at least a little bit of analog photo experience who may want to learn an experimental process such as chemigrams. Reach out with the form on the contact page if you would like to discuss this or other processes, and to inquire about rates.

External Workshops

Bridget works with other organizations online and in person to offer workshops in a variety of photographic subjects. Learn more about past and future offerings with the links below.

Private Project Mentoring

If your needs are less technical, Bridget has you covered. Together we can work on a variety of topics such as building a body of work, refining concept, editing and sequencing images, writing a project/artist statement, and presentation/finishing methods. For project mentoring, please use the form on the contact page, and she will return your message so you can have an initial conversation about your goals.
