Pinhole Photography in Nature

Sunday June 14, 1-5pm
$95 ($85 with university ID)
5 spots remaining

In this workshop, participants will learn how to make photographs in nature with simple wooden pinhole cameras. We will discuss a little bit of history and how the pinhole camera works with black and white darkroom paper. Participants will work outdoors and be able to wander our woods, incorporating the natural setting into their images if desired. We will discuss ways to determine proper exposure and control composition, and how to process the prints in traditional darkroom chemistry. Students will make as many 4in. by 5in. photographs as the lighting and weather will allow, likely at least 5. Lastly, the workshop will cover how to digitally reverse these negative images into positives, and if time permits, learn how to make analog positive photos in our current darkroom.

No photo experience is required, participants should be 18+ years of age.

The workshop fee covers all materials. If you have a pinhole camera you would like to use (no larger than 8in. by 10in.), you are welcome to bring it.
